CASSPLAG-SWMRL was established in 2018 by Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University Physics Department after the acceptance of The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) Project (117F336). CASSPLAG-SWMRL focuses on scientific research in the area of space weather. Its mission is to understand the magnetic activities of the Sun and their effects on the near-Earth environment. Many tools are being developed to monitor, understand and forecast solar activity and its geomagnetic effects. One of the important missions of CASSPLAG-SWMRL is to integrate research and education, to train graduate students to become future leaders in solar physics. This multi-disciplinary effort encompasses the areas of solar physics, computer science and mathematics. CASSPLAG-SWMRL extensively uses space data from NASA-CDAW, NASA-ACE, NASA-WIND, Stanford-JSOC, NASA-DONKI, Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, AAVSO, SILSO, RHESSI, GOES, HINODE missions. CASSPLAG-SWMRL is currently providing forecasting of the Solar CME-AR identification, solar cycle prediction; effects of CME based interplanetary (IP) shocks in Near-Earth-Space environment..
